Cruisin' the Loop starts at 7 pm!
The Loop will start in the Piggly Wiggly parking lot in the Glendale Shopping center on the corner of HWY 6 and Main Street. There, Joe McGonagill and Smokin' Brothers will be set up to sell BBQ and hot dogs and other goodies, the proceeds going to Amory Humane Society. He's given the Loop event access to the lot (as it's part of the classic Loop). Thank you, Joe! Kathy Parker will also be selling posters of this and last year's event.
Another Loop option is the extended loop that goes down to the Amory Skating Rink. If the Pig is too congested, you might swing through here and make your loop! The Skating Rink will have a drive-up snack service with pizza, hotdogs, pickle sickles (you gotta love 'em!), nachos, and more.
The Main Drag is (obviously) on Main Street. Down through here, you'll find that Country Boy's, Bill's Hamburgers, and the new kid on the block Bam Bam BBQ will be open late. Others may be as well, so be sure to come with an empty belly to snag a good bite at these awesome places! Also in Vinegar Bend, you'll find live music in the Pocket Park. You can grab a bite and take a seat there and enjoy while you eat! In Frisco Park, Hometown Pizza will be open and serving as well as Sydney's SnoCones next to Nail-McKinney. Again, there will be live entertainment on the gazebo, and you can get you food and snack while you listen.
Once you get to the crossroads of Main Street and 278, you can go either left or right. Going left, you can find Carl's BBQ where he's got tables for you to sit and eat and watch other folks pass by. Go right, and you can go to Knight's Drive-In. They'll have the old Savings Gas Station as a parking space for you to sit and waiters will come to your car and serve you.
AS ALWAYS, we're going to include a tidbit about your pet's safety. This IS July, and it's oh-so hot. We'll love to see your pup being a part of this awesome event, but please keep in mind that it's hot! Your pooch (and you!) need to stay hydrated in the heat. Take frequent breaks and please PICK UP AFTER YOUR DOG! Don't let your pet's number 2 be the pooper of the party. There are garbage cans all along Main Street for you to dispose of waste in. If you are afraid of how your dog may react to large crowds or other dogs, please consider leaving them at home. If your pup is all about the party, then bring him on! If you see a dog, please be sure to ASK before you pet them. They may be territorial about their owner's car, or tempermental about where they're pet. ALWAYS ask "May I pet your dog" before you do so.
Again, we're ready for a fun weekend of music, food, cool cars, and hanging out! Have fun, and we'll see you Saturday!
