We are a 501(c)3 animal welfare organization located in Amory, Mississippi. AHS was established December 1983 to meet the needs of animals in the city limits of Amory and surrounding areas. At that time, there was only a pound for stray animal pickup and the outcome was very grim. A group of citizens saw that there was such a great need to create a humane society for the proper, medical care, shelter, and sustenance. Since that day we as a humane society have strived to make the biggest, most positive impact we could.

Here at Amory Humane Society our mission is to promote domestic animal welfare. Our goals include providing humane education; promoting animal welfare legislation; advocating and facilitating pet sterilization; rescuing, sheltering, and promoting adoption of abandoned animals.
