We are a 501(c)3 animal shelter located in Amory, Mississippi. AHS was established December 1983 to meet the needs of animals in the city limits of Amory and surrounding areas. At that time, there was only a pound for stray animal pickup and the outcome was very grim. A group of citizens saw that there was such a great need to create a humane society for the proper, medical care, shelter, and sustenance. Since that day we as a humane society have strived to provide the best proper care, we could. To this day we have implemented and practice no kill policies that we utilize with every animal. We intend to give the best chance and quality of life possible within our means. Utilization of every option to find an animal a loving home is our top priority, and we won't stop until every adoptable creature has a loving, nurturing home.
